Gumfreston Church and Holy Wells

The site of this ancient church and its three holy wells is strongly connected to the early Celtic Christians of the Ritec Valley, and for centuries has been a place of pilgrimage and worship.

Today, our church and wells remain a peaceful sanctuary of rest and spirituality, maintaining normal Sunday Church in Wales services, while remaining open and welcoming at all times to visitors and pilgrims. We are also involved with the Living Wells project in Wales.

We offer a Celtic service every third Sunday of the month. We also have an evening of Celtic story and song in the Tenby Arts Festival in September, with a candlelit Christmas Celebration in December, after which prayer candles are floated in the wells.

After our Easter Sunday service, people are invited to join us at the wells to throw ‘Christ’s nails away’, an ancient tradition we have renewed.
